Client: Infamous Illustrious Inc Infamous Illustrious had a website with a problem: it wasn't making money.They had a Yahoo Store website set up and they did minimal promotional activity surrounding the website. If sales were dissapointing, repeat customers were more so: there weren't any. Not a single one. Enter open-source software to the rescue once again.
We realized that Infamous Illustrious needed more than just an excellent e-commerce system, they needed a full range of consulting and marketing services. We helped them select a new ISP host and merchant payment gateway, then deployed a custom-tweaked OSCommerce system. This included compiling contributions for group-based discounts for wholesale customers, a full site map, QuickBooks integration and our linkSpheric directory system for managing links campaigns. We selected a design that closely emulates their printed catalog and point-of-purchase displays to reinforce brand identity and we coached their staff through the process of writing search-engine-optimized product descriptions for their catalog. And we didn't stop there. We set them up with full marketing campaigns.Illustrious staff were trained on the administrative interfaces of OSCommerce and several marketing campaigns were set up. Illustrious now has a sensible, market-driven pay-per-click campaign, a growing presence on search engines, newsletters to users and excellent email responses to build customer loyalty. With a broader product line and by grouping items together in "specials", Illustrious plans to boost it's average sale values, increase customer loyalty, increase search engine presence and be more responsive to it's market in current-events-driven product development. The dataSpheric OSCommerce deployment will take them to the highest levels of productivity while allowing Illustrious maximum flexibilty and control over their ecommerce business. |
